Family Time!

This past Sunday, Jessie & Rick and Shawn and his friend, Adam joined us on the boat. 1st we did some fishing, Jess & Rick caught a fish and Cliff almost did!

Shawn & Adam met us back at the dock and we did some tubing. We traveled thru lock #5 and stopped and made steak, hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill,

Someone at our marina said we have until the 20th of October before they will pull the docks for the season, that gives us a little less than a month to stay at our slip. I have made arrangements to store our boat at Brady's Bend Mine this year. Having the boat stored in the mine will protect our boat from the harshness of winter and save on our winterizing expenses. The year-round tempature is 68 degrees with 68% relative humidity. All I need to do is add fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank and mix antifreeze to the engine.

Extended Boating Season

Still enjoying fun on the Allegheny River! Maria and I are spending evenings and weekends on the boat to get the last of our summer of fun. Tomorrow is the 1st day of Fall but the weather continues to be warm.

Kathy & Will joined us last nite and we went through lock #4 and we spent time looking for a houseboat, that is for sale, that Kathy & Will are interested in buying.... Darkness fell and we anchored out and grilled pork and rice that Kathy & Will brought with them. Then we headed back up river in total darkness, through the lock and back to our marina.

Boating Season winding down

September 2007

We have enjoyed a fabulous summer on the water, but Maria & I both don't want to see it come to and end! Pictures from Labor Day and this past weekend with our freinds Carol and Tubby. They have pulled their boat out for the year. We are hoping that "indian summer" lasts through October!
