Anchoring is easy again

Finally, after about 2 years, I made repairs to our windlass, allowing us to set and pull the anchor by pressing a switch instead of having to lower and raise the anchor by hand!  After our trip to Pittsburgh, two weeks ago, I decided to make it a priority to get it working again.  I removed the complete assemby and motor - repaired the shaft and bushings and had the motor repaired.  I spent 2 hours installing it. Out on the water for the testing, and it worked great! No more dirty hands or sore back!

Pittsburgh Ragatta Weekend 2010

We decided to head to Pittsburgh for the Ragatta and fireworks on the 4th of July.  We made the trip with Maria's Sister, Kathy and Will.  We left on Saturday morning and headed down the river.  We stopped to see my brother Jeff and his family at Fox Chapel.  Afterwards we got to the point in time to see the motorcross riders doing stunts.  we ventured down to The Rivers Casino outdoor amplitheater to see the Beatles tribute band, GetBack. They put on a fantastic show.

Dock Party

We had a nice dock party at our marina on Saturday.  I provided the music till 12:30AM

Nice Weekend!

Now time to go back to work....To rest!

We left, after work on Friday and headed for the marina.  Once there I discovered I had left the 110 volt main switch off, the weekend before, so I had 2 dead batteries because the convertor didn't keep them charged up, during the week. Well we were stuck at the dock, to let the batteries recharge. On Saturday, the battery levels were back to normal and we headed down to Jack's island, pulled around to the back side and beached the boat.  Enjoyed the music & the sunshine for a couple hours.  We returned to the dock, so Maria could leave to attend a graduation party.  I threw a DVD in and sell asleep and awake to an approaching thunderstorm! I put up the campertop and hunkered down to endure the storm & Maria's return.  On Sunday  Father's Day the kids were coming out with Hunter and our friend Barb was joining us with her Jetboat. We helped her launch it and went back to the island to spend the day.  Barb's boat had mechanical problems and I spend time trying to fix it. we wound up towing her boat back to the launch at the day's end.  After returning to the marina, we met up with Kathy & Will and had shrimp, burgers and salad at the pavillion. I nice ending to a great Father's Day....!

Dog on Board

We decided to take "Hunter" out to our boat on Saturday to see if he, could be a "Boat Dog". We went to the island and Maria & Hunter went swimming.  We enjoyed tuna salid for lunch.
