4th of July at the Point

After much debating about the weather, Maria & I decided to venture down 3 locks to the Point at Pittsburgh. We left our dock about 2 PM and arrived about 5 PM. We were stopped at the 10th Street bridge because of the formula 1 powerboat races. At 8:15 PM we were allowed to move downtown. Jessica and her friends were also there and we picked them up at PNC Park and parked next to The Science Center submarine to watch the fireworks and laser light show.

We all had a great time. After the show, we dropped off the kids at PNC Park and looked around for a place to stay for the night. I wanted to stay at the docks at Station Square, but they were full...We wound up dropping anchor outside of PNC Park, 10 feet off the shoreline.

On Saturday we headed north, back to our marina, and not a drop of rain! on our return trip. Our marina got a new shipment of gasoline, now $4.80 a gallon!

Jess looks great!!! Young and happy. Glad you made it down town for the works; seems like it was fun, better than watching it on tv.
